Presentation evening. We are hoping for a big turnout to celebrate 30 years of ECC, as well as welcoming a representative of the North London Hospice to accept the money raised from this year's Les Bailey Memorial Ride. Family and friends welcome, it doesn't matter if you haven't ridden with us for some time. We ask that you arrive by 7:45pm, so the presentation can begin at 8:00. As in other years buffet snacks will be very welcome if you are able to bring them on the night. Drinks available from the bar.

Fen Court Roof Gardens in the City. From their web site: "The Garden at 120 stretches across the rooftop with wisteria, roses, hydrangeas and a long water feature, framing views to the Thames, Tower Bridge and The City's towers... Free to visit all year round, no booking needed." There is a café there but by all accounts it is very expensive, so it is likely we will explore nearby Leadenhall Market for food. Or bring your own, as nothing in this area is going to be cheap. About 25 miles, any bike.

Les Bailey Memorial Rides
As in previous years there will be a choice of two routes, a 50 mile ride to Richmond Park led by Geoff and an easier, shorter route to High Beach Church led by Maz. Both groups will meet back at the Little Green Dragon in the afternoon.
Ride 1: Richmond Park, 50 miles — meet 9:00 at Little Green Dragon, W3W ///lend.woes.milk. 50 miles mainly on quiet roads and cycle paths. Hopefully we will spot some deer in the park and after a lunch stop we shall be returning back to the Little Green Dragon where we will meet up with the other group. Suitable for road bikes or hybrids. Leader: Geoff.
Ride 2: High Beach, 20 miles — meet 11:00 at Firs Farm Community Centre, W3W ///indeed.less.brings. 20 miles with lunch at the Bikers Café followed by tea and cakes at High Beach Church. Return to meet the other group at the Little Green Dragon. Suitable for all bikes. Leader: Maz.
Both rides will end at the Little Green Dragon pub in Winchmore Hill, where there will be drinks, cakes and good company.
Our fundraising page is now open for donations. Please contribute as generously as you are able and share the link with friends. Over the last 4 years we have donated a total of nearly £3000 to North London Hospice so let's raise as much as we can this year to help fund a very worthy cause: donate via JustGiving. (Please note that when making a donation a tip to Just Giving will be automatically added. This is not compulsory and can be removed or adjusted by clicking on "Enter custom amount".)

Queenswood Café, Highgate. About 15 miles.
We will start our ride pedalling towards Bush Hill Park, along quiet residential roads parallel to Green Lanes, heading towards Palmerston Road, then continue on the Penstock greenway and Crouch End Playing Fields to Queen's Wood Cafe. Our destination has a beautiful, tranquil kitchen garden at the back, perfect for a cup of tea and a light snack. Given that we are opting for a spring day and should arrive before noon, it is hopefully not too busy. The route home will take us halfway down Muswell Hill, past quiet residential streets, Alexandra Palace, and Nightingale Gardens. However, rather than going straight towards Enfield at the end of Palmerston Road, there's a small loop to Firs Farm Wetlands, where the tour ends. Feel free to join with your road bike or hybrid; we will stay on tarmacked roads. Given that spring days can be cold and unpredictable, and many of us will want to ease into a new cycling season, the tour is kept short; however, note that there is one challenging hill to conquer.

The City and Greenwich. Riding mainly on quiet roads or dedicated cycle paths, but there will be some traffic hotspots. Return using the (free) Silvertown Tunnel Cyclists Shuttle Bus (e-bikes are permitted on this service — see here). This service was funded for one year from last March, so we don't know if it will be continuing but anecdotally its usage looks poor. There will be a lunch stop at Greenwich Cutty Sark — bring sandwiches or use the various street food outlets. About 32 miles, mainly flat.
